The “Stoopid” Rig is Catching Fish.

There’s Nothing Stupid about Landing 27 Redfish out of 28 Strikes!
Many of you have asked for more information about this rig so here it is…
· 4-inch Saltwater Split-tail Shads
· HitchHiker (44Z Medium) Rigging Device
· 2/0 or 3/0 Bleeding Bait, Circle Wide Hook
· 6 – 10 pound Braided Line like Power Pro or Fire Line
(Braided line absorbs less line twist.)
Cast and allow the lure to sink to the desired depth.
While holding the rod at an 8 O’ clock position, retrieve slowly with a slight twitching action. The bait will simulate dying or injured bait.
When the strike occurs, DO NOT SET THE HOOK! Fish strike the Bleeding Bait Hook and sets itself.
(A recent discussion with a fisheries biologist revealed something he called a “Gill Flash” that triggers the feeding response.)
The rig is effective on Trout, Reds, Snook, Bass and more.
