Central Florida
Fishing Charter
Offering Fly and Spin Fishing Charters for
Redfish, Trout, Snook and Tarpon. Fishing charters in Cocoa Beach, Titusville and Merritt Island Florida.
As a
Cocoa Beach native I have had
the pleasure growing up fishing the Central Florida waters and watching the
trends that effect the day to day catching. Over the years I have watched
the fishing go from great to not so good. Fortunately over the past 15 years
I have watched this area come back to a World Class fishery where you can
once again catch world record gator trout, bull redfish and tarpon that
would please even Florida Keys fisherman.
One of the best things for me
about guiding has been being able to
help people experience what has been one of the passions of my life,
catching fish that pull drag. Over the past 15 years I have been fortunate
enough to have been able to make a living guiding full time on the water I
grew up on and helping people of all experience levels make a few memories
of there own.
I am one of the most laid back
hardcore sight fishermen you will ever meet. I pole a boat spotting
fish and setting them up for my clients to cast to.
So what's the difference between
myself and other guides?
1.
I don't yell or raise my voice. There isn't
anything you can do I haven't seen or done myself.
2. I don't fish with my clients. I am being paid good money to help
you catch fish not for you to watch me.
3. All my clients fish with the same equipment I fish with and I don't
fish with junk.
4. I am a Cocoa Beach Native and I fish Cocoa Beach. I don't move all
over Florida and try to keep up on how the fishing is somewhere else.
5. I don't have a larger than life ego. I always love it when I am
asked if I'm the best guide in the area. My answer, I am on some days, but
that's only before 6am when I'm the only guide on the water. I'm just a
guide trying to help my clients hear a drag and put a few fish in the boat.
6. I just want my clients to have fun and help them catch a few fish a way that many have only dreamt of.
Cocoa Beach
Fishing Guide Capt. Doug Blanton
Fishing Charters in Cocoa Beach,
Titusville, Merritt Island and Cape Canaveral
Capt.
Doug Blanton specializes in fly and light tackle sight fishing on the flats in Titusville and Cocoa Beach Florida.
Capt Doug is the only full time guide in Cocoa Beach that exclusively sight fishes redfish, trout, snook and tarpon with
artificial. People ask all the time if this is the same flats fishing they have seen TV. My answer: it's the same thing only better because YOU are the one
catching the fish. On my trips, I will help you how to catch Trout,
Redfish,
Tarpon and
Snook. If you have never sight fished before, don't worry, I cater
to all fishing experience levels. I am a Cocoa Beach native and full time
flats guide
with over 35 years experience
fishing
Cocoa Beach,
Titusville and the
Merritt Island areas. I am located less than a hour from Walt Disney World
and Orlando. My job is to help you catch fish without all the stress you may
have experienced with other guides. My goal is for you to have a great time on
the water and catch a memory that will last a lifetime. For more information,

Cocoa Beach Fishing Report
|
April 16th, 2013 fishing report by Capt
Doug Blanton
|
Summary
I think spring has finally arrived in Cocoa Beach. The
bait is finally starting to show up in the water temperatures have finally got
above 70°.
The fishing is starting to pick up some of the big schools of redfish haven't
shown up yet. The good news is the tarpon and snook fishing has been pretty good
over the past few months and should get better now that the glass minnows have
shown up. Most days flyfishing is still been the way to go but now the mullet
are starting to show up the should all change soon. When it does if it's
anything like last year sharpen your hooks on your top water plugs because they
were blasting them out of the water.
