Over the years I have had a number of people want me to teach the how to do everything from long cast to how to "walk the dog". Well here's your chance. I have the patience if you have the desire to learn.

Here are a few of the classes I will teach.

Improve you casting.

Most people think they know how to cast light tackle. As a full time guide I can tell you that isn't true. Most understand the basics but need some instruction on "making the shot". Most of the time a 50 to 100 foot cast is fine, but many time if you could make a 150 to 250 foot cast you would have a better chance at catching that big one.

I will help you:

Make longer casts.
Improve your accuracy.
How to avoid getting loops in your line.
Show you the differences in rods and what to look for in a rod to accomplish what you want to do.
Show you the differences in fishing line and what to look for in a good long casting line.

I will provide all rods, reels and lures. However, I would recommend bringing your own rods for you to learn with your own equipment. If you are looking to buy new equipment I would be happy to meet with you prior to your lesson at the Fly Fisherman in Titusville to help you pick something out.

Over the years I have heard a lot of people tell me that you can't catch redfish on top water. I have always told people that you haven't caught a redfish until you have done it on top water. The problem I have found with most of them is that they didn't know how to effectively draw the strike. I have been throwing top water in saltwater all my life. In that time I have learned a few tricks to drive fish nuts.

I will teach you how to:

Work a large verity of top water plugs
"Walk the dog"
Draw a strike from a short striking fish
Draw tarpon to the surface
What to look for in a top water plug that will catch fish

How to Sight Fish redfish, trout, snook and tarpon.

This is probably the most common question I am asked. 75% or more of the people out there "sight fishing" don't know how to. They think that having a flats boat and standing on a platform is all there is to it. Well that's why that old saying about 10% of the people catch 90% of the fish. I can show you how to become part of that 10% when it comes to sight fishing.
